GRAS is an award-winning architecture and design studio based in Edinburgh, focusing on timeless design principles that develop refined yet characterful solutions that put the needs of their users first.
Murray was commissioned to shoot a portrait project of the members of their practice. He shot these using natural light at his studio in Leith, with a beautiful Carl Hansen chair being the only prop. Spending roughly 40 minutes with each subject gave him plenty of time and space to create a true and authentic set of portraits. This was followed up with a shoot at the GRAS studio to reflect the importance of materials in their work.
